Clayton Classic Bathroom

This Clayton bathroom renovation was driven by both functional limitations and aging materials, with the client’s primary concern being an undersized shower that no longer met their needs.

The project began as a full gut renovation, allowing us to reimagine the space while maintaining the existing tub alcove footprint. Within that framework, we transitioned from a built-in tub to a freestanding tub, creating a more open and elevated focal point without altering the overall layout.

One of the key challenges was maximizing usable space within a fixed footprint. During demolition, we uncovered additional inches behind the existing drywall, which required a thoughtful pivot in the design to fully capitalize on this unexpected opportunity. This allowed us to expand the shower beyond initial constraints.

We also reworked the interior functionality by converting a former linen closet into a built-in bench within the shower, enhancing both comfort and usability.

Architectural detailing, including custom wainscoting, paired with updated plumbing fixtures, tailored cabinetry, and refined lighting, brought cohesion and balance to the space.

The result is a bathroom that feels significantly more spacious, highly functional, and quietly luxurious, achieved through careful planning, adaptability during construction, and a fully integrated design approach.
