The Modern Cape Cod Lakeside Retreat project is luxurious, warm and casually inviting. Being that this stunning home is located on a lake, our clients wanted their lake home to feel relaxed, inviting and refined. As their forever home, they wanted all of the spaces to feel casual and comfortable, but also high end, with an extreme attention to detail. They wanted to incorporate custom details throughout the whole project, with every element being specially designed and built for them. Every single inch of this home was thoughtfully designed to become part of the overall picture and to exude a strong sense of place. When you step into this home, our goal was to make you will feel relaxed and comfortable, but in a elevated way not unlike walking into a high end resort or retreat.
The inset kitchen cabinets are Amish designed by Elizabeth Yager of EYD Fine Cabinetry, using Das Holz Haus out of Arthur IL. These are 100% luxury heirloom-quality pieces. The door style we customized specifically to the homeowners taste. Custom brushed brass accents are scattered throughout the kitchen in the range hood, the island posts and the beverage center screen. -We chose a fine Italian marble called Calacatta Matrazzo from fabricator Pyramid Marble & Granite in a brushed finish for the counter tops and the full height back splash. We included the dropped mitered edge on the island and a custom marble apron for the sink. The full height back slash is designed with a scalloped detail by the range hood and was carefully vein matched. -The custom beams, pantry door and trim is all designed by Elizabeth Yager of Elizabeth Yager Designs and fabricated by Amish company Country Side Woodworking out of Arthur, IL. -The Wolf and Sub Zero appliances are supplied by Probst Refrigeration in Effingham, IL. -Photography by Ed Baumgarten Photography, with more photos available upon request. -Special thanks to Goose, the Labradoodle
